Virginia resource and preparation pilot

A proposal for review and discussion. Funding, staffing, a start date, and organizational eligibility are not established by this brief. Public samples are available; the proposed review and evaluation work remains to be commissioned.

Purpose and audience

Help adults, including men and fathers navigating stressful disputes, locate reliable Virginia information and organize questions for qualified help. Women and allies are welcome. Participation would not require sharing private case records or traumatic experiences.

Proposed work and outputs

• Review the existing six Academy primers and 13 organizer topics against an agreed source, jurisdiction, plain-language, and accessibility checklist.
• Connect the reviewed materials into one learning path and prepare two fictional demonstration packets.
• Record corrections, source dates, and professional-review scope.
• Test navigation and print tasks, then prepare a completion report with actual results and limitations.

Optional orientation sessions would need a separate facilitator, accessibility plan, participation boundaries, and confirmed schedule. They are not currently bookable activities.

Proposed delivery sequence

1. Agree the scope: confirm the responsible organization, project lead, qualified reviewers, cost quotes, and approved budget.
2. Prepare the resource set: review sources, edit materials, build fictional examples, and record open questions.
3. Test and correct: use voluntary participants and fictional tasks to check resource finding, readability, and printing.
4. Report: distinguish approved outputs, participant feedback, unresolved issues, and actual spending from the original targets.

Evidence of completion

Reviewed outputs

Count items accepted against the agreed checklist, with versions and review dates.

Usability

Report how many participants attempted and completed each defined task, and what failed.

Feedback

Use optional feedback about finding information and organizing questions; state the response count and limitations.

Stewardship

Compare actual costs with approved categories, identify changes, and record remaining maintenance work.

No court victories, clinical improvement, audience size, participant count, or historical impact is claimed. A pilot tests an educational approach; it does not establish a guaranteed outcome.

Resources and decisions for a funding conversation

Proposed cost categories are editing, qualified content review, accessibility and print review, technical work, coordination and evaluation, and approved materials. A requested amount should follow agreed scope and actual quotes. No public funding ask or committed budget is set in this brief.
