Demand Letter (General)

Use this structure to request payment or property before filing in small claims. Replace bracketed parts. Keep to one page if possible.

Structure

  1. Header: Your name & address • Date • Recipient name & address.
  2. Intro: “This letter concerns [issue] occurring on [date].”
  3. Facts (brief): 3–5 bullets with dates and amounts.
  4. Amount/Relief: “Please pay $[amount] (or return [item]) by [deadline].”
  5. Attachments: List key documents/photos (A–C).
  6. Closing: “If we can’t resolve this by the deadline, I may file a claim.”
  7. Signature block
